RS Double Edge Safety Razor Top Cap

Double Edge Safety Razor top cap only. Works with standard double-edge blades, not included. Needs the base piece, handle, and blade to function. Individual sale allows for custom precious metal combinations or for those who would like to use the head on an existing handle. Metric M5 threads fits most existing handles. Designed to provide a highly-efficient shave. Estimated 0.18mm of blade protrusion. Gap is 0.60mm. The radius of the top cap and bottom factor in the 0.1mm thickness of the blade. Shaving angle is approximately 27.4deg. Plastic version allows you to sample the shave before purchasing one made from precious metal. Precious-metal components are fabricated using a complex five-step process. First, the model is printed in wax using a specialized high-resolution 3D Printer. It is then put in a container where liquid plaster is poured in around it. Once the plaster sets, the wax is melted out in a furnace, and the remaining plaster becomes the mold. Molten metal is poured into this mold and hardens quickly. The plaster is broken away, revealing your razor components. The razor components are then carefully cleaned and hand-polished. Metals tarnish over time, especially Silver and Bronze. Bronze is salt-water corrosion-resistant but will change from a polished look to a dark "bronze" color.
