Product Description
HO scale 9ft wheelbase chassis for British Railways 16t mineral wagon and similar. Steel solebar style. Should fit between the headstocks of the 16t mineral wagon body I have uploaded, which is scale 16' 6" over headstocks. The same as the chassis in the whole wagon or separate parts model of the diagram 1/102 welded mineral wagon.
Made for 24.5mm axles (designed with 24.8mm between opposite pocket cone pinpoints).
UPDATE 2021-10-31 (blend_04) I have made the brake shoes and push rodding a separate sprue so that you can choose to make dual-side independent brakegear, Morton 4-shoe or Morton 2-shoe.
UPDATE 2022-01-22 (blend_12) I have joined the block of brake shoes and push rodding to the chassis so that the print is a single piece for ease of handling. Cut the sprues where they join the chassis, then cut the brake units off the sprue as you require them. I have also made minute improvements to the overall width, and the distance beween the backs of the axleboxes. This has also eliminated the need for the little cutouts that made more space to get te axle ends in.
NOTE if you are planning to use the chassis with a 1/102 minral wagon body, please cut through the tie bar between the bottoms of the axleguards on each side. These mineral wagons did not have tie bars.
