Product Description
This is a custom designed spool for camera assistants to hold paper or cloth tape for laying marks. Its inspired by 16mm film cores that are commonly used to hold small amounts of tape on set. Its helps the technician avoid the dreaded "can I have some of your tape" question, since it won't seem like there is much to share. I've removed the notch that film cores have that can cause the core to snag when rotating. They're also available in many colors so you could choose some to match your favourite for focus marks or grab one of each colour to use for marking actors. Pair with a handmade strap from strap550 and you have a great custom combo to express yourself on set. Who knows, maybe one day the real film cores will be more expensive than these...probably not. Designed for 1/2" tape.
