Grove RT745 Crane Tires

While these wheels were designed for the Grove RT745 Crane, they are available separately here as well. They are perfect for industrial details, car loads, or for scratchbuilders designing their own vehicles. The tires have an outside diameter of 74 scale inches and are 26.5 inches wide. The dimensions are derived from Grove schematics and data. Multiple tire widths were produced for these cranes, but I thought the 26.5" wide tire looked the best. The tread design was based on photos of prototype cranes.

The strange looking sprue is intended to avoid the treads to so they are not filled in with material. They are easier to separate and require less sanding and cleanup to remove the sprue. There are 'left' and 'right' tires with mirrored treads. Of course it doesn't actually matter what side they go on, but it is important to keep both sides paired up to prevent mismatched treads on one side of the vehicle. The sprue is marked to show which two tires go together.
