Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disease that occurs when the myelin (the insulating material around nerve cells) is damaged and hard plaques develop along the neuron's axon. This causes disruptions in how messages are sent throughout the nervous system and results in serious and sometimes excruciating symptoms for those suffering with MS. I was pretty familiar with MS but it wasn't until this year that I met someone and had to watch her go through it everyday. The pain, the blindness and the frequently disabling symptoms that come along with it. Her strength and love of life continue to inspire me greatly. So much so that I decided to design a pendant just for her while also using it to teach and raise awareness. The symbol usually associated with Multiple Sclerosis Awareness is a Butterfly to represent Hope and Transformation and the color is usually orange. There is a neuron being protected by the butterfly to symbolize strength. Available in the orange strong plastic but also in many other colors and materials and can be customized as well!
