Product Description
This logging yarder is similar to a Thunderbird and is known as a swing yarder. The rigging and mast can be used for controlling a logging carriage, like an Eagle type (which is offered separately) or a grapple depending on your preference. This piece is large, with a rough tower height of 50 feet. This is very complicated as I wanted it to be able to be rigged by the builder using fine braided fishing line, thread etc. There a number of parts, but should be self explanatory once you start assembling. The drums should all be freewheeling, with the ability to carefully grab the ends and rotate, drawing in or loosening lines. This piece can be displayed in upright operational mode, or the mast laid down to indicate transport mode. A few technical points. When possible, replace all the pins with metal or stronger material fo some sort. This piece is complicated enough that I split it into two main files, with an optional engine file as well, so it would actually be able to print. This also lets one purchase the group over time to stretch out budgets etc. The first piece contains the main body, tracked undercarriage and main drums. Should there be any questions or issues, contact me via the designer link or direct via email to modelmechanic@gmail.com
I WILL sell the complete set of files to those that want to print it themselves. However, this would be for personal use, and not to be sold as 3d printed parts. You MAY sell a completed unit as a custom however! If this is of interest, contact me via email directly. The 1/64th price would be $ 150.00.
