Ripped from the headlines!
Eagle talons from the Krapina Neandertal site in present-day Croatia, dating to approximately 130,000 yrs ago show evidence of mounting (polishing and cut marks) as part of a piece of jewelry possibly a necklace or bracelet [1]. Here we have individually sculpted each of the 8 talons from Krapina studied in the article, scaled them up by a factor of 4 and added holes so that they can be threaded on a string or wire.
