Product Description
This ring was designed for the National Gallery of Denmark Collection Jewelry Design Contest and was inspired by “An Egyptian Fellah Woman with her Baby” painted in 1872 by Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann.
For this contest I wanted to create a design that recall the qualities of the painting and to translate the painting composition into a sculptural piece. The main curves of the woman's figure were used to create the smooth solid and the path in which the fabric would lay.
The ring features a dynamic composition, with a visual contrast between the resting smooth element and the movement of the fabric, which gives a sense of sensuality, creating an exotic piece that manages to relate with the painting qualities and composition.
