The M1919 browning series is Light Machine Gun chambered in 30.06 Springfield, widely used during 20th Century, mostly during World War II, Korea and Vietnam War. This LMG saw service as infantry weapon, coaxial
mounted gun, aircraft and anti-aircraft in US Army.
For infantry purpose, it was mounted on M2 tripod, and the machine gun team provide a sustained fire cover.
On aircraft, this machine was designated as the AN-M2, it was used for defense purpose, this variant have a higher fire rate than the Infantry version.
The M1919A6 is an upgraded version of A4, a butt-stock and a bipod have been added, this was an attemp to replace the B.A.R.
The M1919 was the heaviest LMG of its time. It's still in use today, chambered with 7.62 NATO.
