Product Description
This is a four-part pattern for sand-casting a wedge-shaped rammer head for making sand-castings. Melville Metalworks requested this custom design so that this rammer head can be drilled from the side and fitted onto a 1'' wood or pipe handle of any length. Becauses, all of the handheld rammers that they've used for the past 25+ years have all been too short for moldmaking on the floor. In other words, this was designed to be a big-time back-saver for my buddies. The two halves of the rammer must be mounted in near-perfect alignment on opposite sides of a pattern-board pre-fitted to a flask of the foundryman's choice; the other two form the core-box (CO2 sand) for making the neck hollow, where the handle-rod attaches. Melville Metalworks reminded me to sign this industry-essential work, so I was like.... OKAY!!! ;P
