Mitosis Cell Division Pendant

This little bauble of a pendant is inspired by the anaphase stage of mitosis in eukaryotic cells. Mitosis is the process by which cells divide, replicating their chromosomes and distributing them evenly between the two developing cells. At anaphase, the daughter chromatids (the replicated chromosomes) are being pulled along by microtubules to opposite ends of the dividing cell.

The diameter of the sphere underneath the bail is 16 mm (0.6 inches).
