This is a model I designed to fit a mass produced car window motor: (ACDelco 11M33 Professional Power Window Motor)
It is intended to be used with 1/8" paracord. I have tested this system to hold (and be able to actuate) up to 100lbs over a distance of 2.5 meters.
Currently there is no set way of attaching the winch to the cable (as it depends on what type of cable you wish to use, but for my use case, I simply put a small hole (1/8") in the side near the center and pushed one end of my cable through it and tied off a simple overhand knot. This worked swimmingly, and I may just add that hole to the model if others like this method of rope attachment.
