Product Description

Uranium chemistry is beautiful. This object is inspired in a new class of uranium oxide molecules discovered by Prof. Burns (U. Notre Dame, IN, USA) in 2005. Known as U28, this molecule is like a cage, which is built of four hexagonal star-shaped rings and twelve fused pentagonal rings, so the same symmetry as a tetrahedron. It comprises 28 uranium atoms and 140 oxygens at each vertex in the wireframe mess. Printed in polished nickel steel, use it as pendant or  keychain.

MoleculArt3D's logo is derived from a picture of the first succesfully 3D-printed U28, back in 2013.
