The surface of the ring was created using accurate topographical data taken of the Lunar landing site and the surrounding area in the Sea of Tranquility by a NASA satellite.
On July 20th, 1969 the Apollo 11 Lunar Module "Eagle" touched down on the moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and Lunar Module pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin became the first men to walk on the moon. The landing site is named "Tranquility Base" and is located in an area of the moon named "Sea of Tranquility".
The Apollo 11 team spent just 75 hours and 50 minutes on the moon before heading back to Earth.
