    Hey guys,

I'm really excited to share this -- our ceramics just got (mostly) WAY cheaper!

We've changed it to be more consistent with how we price the rest of our materials - by volume of material used instead of surface area.

With the previous pricing model, designs with complex surface patterns or wiry designs incurred extra costs because the increased surface areas. Now you can make more complex designs for much cheaper while some larger, dense models may show slight price increases. With this change, ceramics will now cost $6 + $0.35/cm3.

    Read all about it here

Those of you who are shop owners may want to check out your ceramics models and see how much cheaper they got. If previously you had set a low markup because the base price was steep, well, now you can adjust it to be a little more for you (and a lot less from us!).

We'll be doing a ceramics promotion on the homepage over the coming few days so post your ceramics in the Feature This thread to show us what we should feature!

And, as always, let us know what you think!
    :)

Hey guys, as an add on to the new lowered pricing, we're updating the design guidelines as well.

Our ceramics manufacturer is excited to make perfect prints for everyone, and he takes time to make every model as carefully as possible. Ceramics is a complex labor intensive process so to keep the pricing fair, we are limiting the amount of parts per file to a maximum of two. This ensures each model is treated with the same care, and is priced fairly to reflect how much work is involved in its creation.

We welcome you to split your multi-part orders into sets, as long as they have a maximum of two parts each.

    Thanks!
