50Ft Brownhoist Boom Car
southernnscale I have designed a Scenic Flat car for 36 people with fwd and aft space for wheelchairs and access for a dock ramp should have it in hand around the 22 of this month Aug..
southernnscale I also have this that you might want to think about they can be pulled by a Engine I used the MTL roller Bearing couplers trucks! This is the Sintra Tram but could be used in a set of three or four. Holds lots of people and this is Z scale. Just no wheelchair access. I would have to re-design the drawing for wheelchair access in the front
southernnscale Kirsten, That sounds like a really cool idea! I think that would be great! There is only one problem with the flat cars that are being printed in plastic they are light and will derail. I have several milk cars done in FUD material (Frosted Ultra Detailed) that run great at slow speed without weight. I have to use loads on the Z scale flat car to give them weight so that doesn't happen a lot. I don't have any "N" scale trains out and running they are all in storage right now because of room. The Z scale takes up less space. I'm not a professional designer. I started doing this because I couldn't find things I wanted in Z scale so I just did them my self. As for the price it depends on the volume of material use to design the car. I would have to think about this and would like to help if I can! I will figure out a few things and design a flat car with seats and try to design it so there is a way to load wheelchairs. sound like fun thing to design and interesting but up front just don't know what the cost would be till I design it and upload the drawing to shapeways. So I think I'm on the right track! I'll bet back to you as soon as I have something! Keep Steaming along! I was just thinking you could also use a track side loading dock which would be level with the flat car to on load persons in wheels either in front or back side of the car. The you would need only the ramp. I don't know the size of the smallest "N" scale flat car but will fine out! Best Regards, Walt southernnscale
