About
RedHorseRC was born out of RedHorse Motorsport Engineering, a motorsport engineering consultancy providing trackside technical expertise and design services to motorsport teams and suppliers from all-over the world.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns I was unable to work trackside as all motorsport events had been cancelled, even though I was still able to work on some small design projects. This lead me to rediscover an interest in RC cars that burned strongly before I went to university.
Back then, I used to race in the UK as a decent club-level driver using cars like Schumacher TopCat, ProCat, BossCat and Kyosho Lazer ZX-R, but I gave up everything at the age of 18 to concentrate on my Mechanical Engineering degree.
Once this degree was attained, I quickly found a job as junior design engineer with Triple Eight Race Engineering in the UK and my career was set. There would be no time for RC as the job and then family took over my life.
But now there is more time, so I am able to mix the passion for a re-discovered hobby and my professional life to create products for old and new models.
The aims of RedHorseRC are twofold:
· To keep old cars running by supplying reverse-engineered interpretations of either OEM or hop-up parts
· To bring new parts and equipment for either current or vintage cars based on my experience of full-size motorsport
