I believe that 3D printing is a great resource for us model railroaders, however, it always has its limitations. There are some instances where details are best left until after the printing process. My models include mounting points and design features that allow them to be upgraded with aftermarket parts, such as grab irons and brake pipes made from non-3D printed, 3rd party products. I think that allows modelers to create their best project instead of the focus being on the print itself.
