Product Description
A set of fittings for one 4-wheeled coach of the GER. The set includes springs, axleboxes, buffers and lamps.

These model of the springs, axleboxes and buffers were developed from photographs and measurements which I made of surviving coaches. GER 6-wheeled full-brake number 533 and GER 4-wheeled third brake number 308 were the subjects, and I thank the East Anglian Railway Museum for access to get the measurements. It is not certain that these preserved coaches have their original fittings, but the preservation team at EARM have not made any substitutions.

The springs have 10 leaves and plain shackles. The axleboxes are GER type B.

The lamps are not based on the fittings of numbers 533 and 308. Instead, they are models of Pintsch lamps, there being some evidence that the GER used these lamps. See my separate product of these lamps for discussion of the historical background.

The buffers are bored to take springs, heads and rams (from MJT or AGW). Fixed heads could also be used. These buffers should be set up such that the buffing face is 20 scale inches from the headstock.
