These stanchions were the standard for handrails on Reading Company bridges. Their unique curved design gives an unmistakable Reading look to bridges. This 12-pack is enough for both sides of a 40' long bridge, assuming 8' spacing between stanchions. Shorter bridges may have used different spacing, and some bridges only had walkways on one side, so your mileage may vary.
The stanchions have 0.41mm holes for threading 0.38mm (0.15") music wire through to form the complete handrail (wire not included). For best results, clean parts with Bestine or Simple Green before painting. Pre-production models shown in the photo - the version for sale is improved with nut and bolt detail on the base.
