My submission to the IDSA Launch Day 2013 challenge.
The challenge was to design a 3D printed car for a given set of wheels, with an optional ball bearing inside, to ride down a track and fly off the end. Ten were picked from an entry pool of over 100. This one was not picked.
It was designed so the wheels would come off and the ball bearing would fall out after leaving the track. It has the basic aerodynamics of a balsawood airplane. So, hopefully it would glide away after dumping its load. However, the concept remains unproven.
The pinewood derby wheels for the car can be found here.
