Product Description
History: Hagerstown and Frederick Railway The 88 mile H$F was a typical rural cross country interurban trolley line. Formed in 1913 through the consolidation of several companies, it had a wonderfully scenic route through the central Maryland countryside. The trolleys survived much longer than most other rural lines but, portions were abandoned as early as 1938 and the remaining 18 mile Frederick to Thurmont line where the trolleys met the trains in time honoured fashion ran for the last time in 1954. One of the cars of the 168-172 series cars (upon which our model is based) survives in basic body form on freight trucks, hopefully, one day, she might be restored to operation.

The Model: Our models faithfully follow the prototype as built and, allows you to bring this once quirky, friendly scenic trolley back to life in miniature form.

We have created two versions of this model, a basic and deluxe version. The basic version is for those on a budget that enjoy to scratch build and add the final details themselves. The deluxe version includes extras such as lifeguards (fenders), cab controls, underfloor details, stove and the unique Baldwin sideframes.

Both models come without seats. We felt this can easily be obtained from Q Car Company in white metal and will add necessary weight to the model. Trolley poles can also be obtained from Q Car Company.

The model is designed to run with Black Beetle bogies which can be obtained from Steam Era Models.

Don't forget to purchase the underfloor model for this car. We've created this part as a separate component so we can use the more economical and more structurally sound White, Strong, Flexible material.
