Product Description

My most vivid memories of iD Tech camps were each morning at camp: "Good moooorning, iD Tech! Tiiime to wake uuuup!" I loved the camp. It was amazing. I'm already going back this year, but it'd be amazing to win thi extra week of camp and 3D Printers. I'd give the week of camp to my friend, and I've always wanted a 3D printer, and my school would be more than happy to receive one as well. Well, that's enough about the contest, now for the entry!

What I have here is a 3D model of my Minecraft skin, which you can see here: http://www.minecraft-skin-viewer.net/?username=Mr_Alpha&vert_rotation=180&hor_rotation=150&head_rotation=190&left_arm=150&right_arm=220&left_leg=160&right_leg=200&head_only=0&display_hairs=1&antialiasing=1 . I thought it would be cool to have an action figure, so I'm going to ask one of my friends to print one for me.  Since you can't directly color different parts of the same model, I made the greek letter "alpha" on my skin's shirt visible by having it protrude from the rest of the body. I also did this with the sleeves, shoes, and hair. I made my character's eyes visible by having them be intrusions in the face of the model.

Now, you may be wondering, "How is this an action figure if it's in 6 pieces as the picture suggests?" That, my friend, is a good question. It has to be assembled by the person who prints it. I thought it would be cool to have an interactive portion to my design, so there it is. The arms are both supposed to be angled, the one on the left of the print-out is the left arm and is supposed to be angled toward the back. The right arm is supposed to be angled toward the front. I hope you have as much fun positioning those arms and slotting everything in as I did designing this entry to the iD Tech 3D Design Contest! (I used 123D Design to build this and it took around 6 or 7 hours of work to complete.)
