Product Description

The Cruiser Oyodo was the last of the japanese Light Cruisers in WWII. She was armed with two of the Mogami Class Cruisers 155mm Turrets, which are free for use after rearming them with twin 203 mm Turrets. The Oyodo was designed as Leader for Submarine Flotillas and has a strong component of 5 Floatplanes for Recon. She entered Service in 1943 and was rebuild one year later. Her fate was similar to most IJN Ships at the end of the war, she was sunk by Airplanes with heavy losses of their Crew. Set of 2: One 1943, one 1944 style.

Der japanische Kreuzer Oyodo war der letze in Dienst gestellte leichte Kreuzer der japanischen Marine. Sie war mit zwei der 155mm Türme der Mogami Klasse Kreuzer ausgerüstet, welche nach der Umrüstung dieser Kreuzer auf 203mm Zwillingstürme frei wurden. Die Oyodo war als Flaggschiff für U-Boot Flottilien vorgesehen und hatte eine starke Seeflugzeug-Komponente von 5 Aufklärern an Bord. Sie wurde 1943 in Dienst gestellt und ein Jahr später umgebaut. Sie teilte das Schicksal der meisten japanischen Schiffe zum Ende des WWII und wurde durch Luftangriffe unter hohen Personalverlusten versenkt. 2er Satz 1 x 1943, 1 x 1944 Variante.
