How To Design An Object With Color Materials?

  1. Hi, guys!
    I haven't experience printing multi-color objects. Could someone please tell me how to set the color zones in design program (I use Rhino) if I hope to design something like this:

    Full-color prints are valuable in sandstone. I'm not familiar with Rhino but you will want to do some texture mapping on the object. A quick google pulled up this tutorial.

    When it's textured you will want to export the mesh in a file format that carries texturing information. I think 3Ds, OBJ or X3D carry Texturing info. You may or may not need to include the image in a zip with the exported file when you upload it to Shapeways (It depends on if the file export carries the image itself or just the mapping for it.) That should get you pointed in the right direction.
