I'm Interested in learning how to best handle distributed drive shaft bearing loads. My design has not quite a dozen drive shafts, but they all individually distribute the total torque output equally with the rest. In the end I'm hoping to output around 1/3hp from new efficient compressed air engine/turbine. First application might be for bicycle power assist.
Issue
Should I buy off the shelf bearings (the shafts need to spin without vibration, tight tolerances) and build the rest of the engine/turbine in plastic? How well would the SS hold up for bearing duties? Perhaps plastic would do better.
Peace from SW Michigan,
