Product Description
Here are some miscellaneous extra details for the Bandai 1:144 Falcon, mostly to bring it up to Original Trilogy standards. Intended for advanced modellers. The parts include:

- Cockpit tunnel ridge. This is very fiddly to install, since the Bandai model has a cockpit tunnel ridge that's too wide. You have to cut out the original parts, fit my replacement, and then sand and putty the edges. Then you'll need to scribe matching panel lines. This is all difficult to do perfectly, to be honest. Still, if you get it installed you'll have a much better looking model - the Bandai greeblies are way too wide and tall, and look awful.

Special thanks to RPF member adinelt for very useful modelling data which helped considerably with the construction of this poorly documented part of the ship.

- Pair of quad cannons. Designed with separate yokes and cannons, and require some wire or stretched sprue to fit together. Unfortunately I had to add thin pieces between the cannon barrel tips, or else the barrels would tend to warp owing to the properties of the acrylic plastic. This, and the enlarged barrel tips, are compromises for basic printability at this scale.

- Mounting disc for the radar dish. This is designed to accommodate the 308Bits radar dish, since I haven't made one myself at this scale. You cut out the hole in the saucer for the dish, attach this disc from the underside, and then you can fit the 308Bits part easily. Note that there are different versions of the 308Bits dish - this mounting disc is only needed by the two versions of the dish that require cutting of the saucer.

- Square "StuG" greebly. This is a greebly that fits on the underside jaw - it's present on the OT Falcon but omitted from the TFA/TLJ Falcon. (there's just a blank spot there) For those interested, it was a part from a Tamiya 1:35 Sturmgeschütz III German tank (technically an assault gun and not a tank, but whatever).

- Trapezoidal "McLaren" greebly. This fits under the top cannon barrels, on the edge of the cannon turret. The Bandai kit includes this part, which was from a Tamiya 1/12 McLaren M23 race car, but without the holes and details. So you'd have to cut the Tamiya part off first, obviously.

- Y-shaped "Centurion" greebly. This part, from Tamiya's 1:25 model of the British Centurion mark III tank, fits at the front of the gun turret. It was present on the original five foot shooting model, but has since broken off. Contemporary photos of the model, therefore, do not show it.

- Three greeblies. This consists of a flat rectangular perforated greebly and two triangular wedge-shaped greeblies with holes, and which live on the top of the upper jaw. This group of three greeblies exists on the Bandai model, but these printed parts are a minor improvement, I think. You'd have to slice off the Bandai bits, cut the three greeblies apart (they're sprued together) and glue these on.

- Boarding ramp interlock thingies. These require a lot of modification to fit. They're the small interlock posts that hang down from the underside of the saucer where the ramp goes up.

And of course don't forget I have tons of other accurizing components for the Bandai 1:144 Falcon! These include replacement sidewallsreplacement maintenance pits, and replacement docking rings.

Please read the following if you're interested in this item.

These accurizing parts are not mass-market commercial products. I made them for my own use, and have put them here in case they're of interest to someone else. Possibly you, since you’re reading this.

These are components for the serious model maker who wants to build a more accurate miniature. They require finishing. If you don't want to trim, file, sand, and glue, then these aren't the parts you're looking for!

The parts are tiny, and easily broken. They push the limits of today's 3D printers. The detail in the digital previews is all there, but it won't always be visible at the miniscule sizes that this scale requires!
