Rats, rats, everywhere rats. Chittering, chattering, gnawing, pawing rats.

If you're playing a Magic: The Gathering rat deck, you need a few of these.

This is the first in my series of rat tokens. Now that I’ve got him built it should be easy to grind out a bunch of variants. Stay tuned for new poses. This model and others like it are available for free download from The Forge.

Wanna see my nose ring? So begins my kids' new favorite joke.

This ring will loosely fit a child's finger, and it's a comfortable fit on an average adult.

The pictured ring was printed on a MakerBot Replicator; it'll be a little while before my Shapeways-printed alumide ring shows up in the mail, at which point I'll update the photo with the new print.

I use these squirrel tokens with my Magic: The Gathering Squirrel Deck.

I haven't actually printed one of these through Shapeways yet; the photo is a print off my Replicator at home. It's about an inch all, and BADASS.

Because he has nunchucks.

These are printed in black or red plastic, but they take paint very well if you'd like to make them more realistic at home.

You can download the 3D model and print it yourself, too! Just hop over to Zheng3.com to find this model and links to others like it.

It's a squirrel, holding a martini glass!
This squirrel is Inspired by the NPR Planet Money podcast. I've printed him in ABS plastic on my 3D printer at home, but I've made him available in ceramics on Shapeways so that you can use him as a shot glass.

If you're building a Seej structure you're going to need a lot of bloxen.

Bundling them into a dozen saves a bunch on printing costs. Just how much is left as an exercise for the reader.

This ballista will easily launch a U.S. Penny across a cubicle farm, but most people use it to play Seej.

Seej is an Open Source tabletop wargame based around 3D printing. Rules and more information are available at www.s33j.net

If you'd like start playing Seej, there's a Seej Starter Set available on Shapeways, too. You'll need some extra bloxen", or possibly a whole lotta bloxen to really make a go of it. You'll want some flags, too. Construction is really simple! Needlenose pliers are recommended, but not strictly necessary.

You'll need two elastic bands to complete this ballista. Tie a single band through the bore on one of the two D-shaped locking keys. Repeat the process with the other locking key.

Feed the end of one band through the rectangular bore on the ballista's left post. Insert the tenons of the locking key into the square mortises on the post to lock the band in place. You'll be tempted to repeat the process with the other side, but don't give in. It will save you precious minutes of frustration.

Unlike the Zheng3 Penny Catapult, these locking keys should be a snug fit. If some settling of the plastic during printing has made the mortises too small, trim the tenons a bit with your blade of choice.

Center the nock on the knot that connects the two rubber bands. Make sure that the penny's cradle is facing forward.

Feed the end of the band that's been locked down through the rectangular bore on the nock. Tie the free end of the band to the second band. Now feed the free end of the second band through the outside of the rectangular bore on the right post and loop it through the second locking key.

The nock has a wee nub on its underside. Slide this nub into the ballista's firing groove; it will improve accuracy.

Load a penny into the nock, pull it back, and fire away. Be safe! Wear eye protection!

No lady should walk the woods unprepared for conflict.

The lovely and talented Mrs. Zheng3 is modeling an earlier prototype of these sticks at Thingiverse. We'll do a second photoshoot once our gold-plated sticks arrive from Shapeways.

The least expensive option for the do-it-yourself crowd is to buy a White, Strong, & Flexible stick and coat it in gold leaf at home. Amazon sells imitation gold leaf kits for just a few coppers.

Remember that this is a single stick. There are many beautiful single-stick hairstyles, but if milady wishes to be properly prepared for an onslaught of gnolls, prithee add a second to your shopping cart.

Breathe new life into old toys with this gear train!

These gears are designed with 1cm holes to fit Tinkertoy rods and are perfect for the budding engineer in your family.

The design is a bit chunky so that little hands can easily grasp and manipulate this playset. If you need a tigther fit, wrap a small piece of masking tape around the tip of the tinkertoy rod.

The dovetailed rack gears are male, female, and male/female.

Read more about the design process, or go get yourself a Tinkertoy Set to go with these gears.
