I'm a Mechanical Engineer turned IT Professional . I came into the Information Technology world because someone challenged me to. But at heart, I'm still a grease monkey with no desire to lose touch with the nuts, bolts and wrenches I left behind. I picked up 3D Printing when I first saw the Printrbot SimpleMetal. It gave me the opportunity to learn something that merged intangible software code with physical objects. My initial attempts at making prototype parts for my 1923 Model T street rod were met with moderate to great success. Now that I'm inspired, it's time to put 3D printing on my list of hobbies! Along the way, I picked up my lost love for electronics, and have been experimenting with the Basic Stamp, the Arduino and now, the Raspberry Pi.
