Frankentrain Laboratories represent a single proprietor hobby business that was set up upon reaching retirement. I have been engineering my entire 45 year carrer, and now have used CAD/CAM skills to solve Model Train needs for my 1950s American Flyer trains. I began by modifying existing smoke assemblies to accept DC Can motors and impellers to redirect air flow and create a puff of smoke in synchronization with a chuff sound that is timed to fire ever 25% of drive wheel rotation just like real steam engines. I am pefectling all the aspects of systems to replicate the 4 puffs per revolution. The Smoke Generator is my first released assembly. It includes the housing, a lid and a motor plate. You will need to purchase the Mini DC can motor, the impeller, a heater coil and the smoke oil packing material and some screws. Soon I will ne releasign the adaptor plates that will allow you position this smoke generator onto nearly every American Flyer Steam engine. I will also have the signle generator that creates the trigger to fire the motor for a puff of smoke and initiate a schuff sound from a digital sound board. There are several types of trigger assemblies depending on which steam engine you are adding smoke to. All the parts will be on this page shortly. I have many other American Flyer S Scale items to provide so you will be seeing nrw parts showing up here every few weeks.
