I started designing 2.5" scale live steam detail parts when I found that there is a lack of parts that I needed to detail my locomotives. So, most of the models found here will be ones specifically created for locomotives and equipment that I have.
My goal is that most of the parts are designed to be functional, like the GE Hood Door Handle - the handle has a square section the is suiteable for attaching a bellcrank. It can be used to latch the door shut, or can be used to operate a micro switch. Some parts will require some modest light hand work such as drilling, tapping, and filing. In some cases additional hardware like springs and screws may be required. Where shuch things are required, I will try to indicate the source or provide a link.
In many cases, the parts shown here are components in a larger assembly. When this is true, the other items required to complete the assembly will be indicated in the part description. Whenever possible, multiple parts will be printed together to save costs - simply cut them apart and clean up the cut sprue.
