LED DIYers rejoice! This little number is a kind washer specially designed to fit on top of a high-power star mounted LED. Its channeled pathways allow to hold your wiring in place, elimintating the need for solder!

Let's face it, those little stars are a real pain to solder correctly. Even with a good bit of soldering experience and the right equipment, they're difficult at best to get mounted properly (especially when they're mounted to a large heatsink). This hold down makes the process of wiring your star mount LEDs trivial. Simply drill and tap your heatsink as usual**, place your thermal compound and LED, fit a holddown over top, and screw down part-way. When you get close to the bottom, insert your wire and tighten down the screws. Done.

** Remember, if you're using an aluminum heat sink and steel screws, tapping isn't even necessary.
