3D materials

  1. Dear all,

Currently I'm designing a pump impeller that has to be 3D printed. The impeller rotates with 2300 RPM and has a diameter of 200 mm.

I'd like to have some advise on usable materials for 3D printing.

    Thanks,
    René

The materials from Shapeways are offered for decorative purposes only. I doubt seriously that any of them would withstand the torque stresses that such an impeller will be subjected to, with the possible exception of the Aluminum material.

But, aluminum is going to be _expensive_. You could easily be looking at $3000-$5000
