natevplas @henryseg right, but it's really my model which I couldn't get right. The light is just to check the shadow/projection- it doesn't drive the model in any way. The tools I'm using to build the model aren't allowing me to wrap my flat geometry into more of a full sphere, but rather kind of a hemisphere. What program are you using to model?

natevplas @henryseg I did really like that hex grid. I'm trying to model it myself, and I got about 75% there. Not sure with my method (modeling in Cinema 4D using Shrink Wrap deformer) how to get it to wrap up past the equator.

natevplas @henryseg I'm planning to print 2-3 and mount them on my wall. I'd like to use a LED connected to a small battery. Basically a tiny flashlight with on/off button. I haven't chosen a specific one yet, but once I do I would model a support for it.

natevplas @henryseg I'm really interested in this as a wall fixture! Is there any chance you'd be willing to send me your file for me to edit into something more suited for this? I'm willing to work out some sort of deal, but understand if this isn't an option.
