Scan The World

Scan the World is an ambitious initiative whose mission is to archive the world’s sculptures, statues, artworks and any other objects of cultural significance using 3D scanning technologies to produce content suitable for 3D printing.

Through 3D scanning and 3D printing, Scan the World serves to bring art to the masses in a way more tangible than ever before, all in the wider context of meaningful contribution to education, preservation, restoration and accessibility.

3D scanning and 3D printing are incredible tools for both artists and institutions who are looking to have their archives captured digitally. Scan the World wants to help as many museums, galleries, artists and private collectors as possible 3D scan their work. If you have access to artworks, statues and sculptures that you would like 3D scanned then please get in touch. Our community can help with large scale 3D scanning projects, and will often undertake this work for free in the name of sharing and openness.

Scan the World is comprised of a vast community of 3D scanning and 3D printing enthusiasts. Over the years they have scanned thousands of sculptures, statues and monuments and will continue to scan thousands more as the archive grows.

As Scan the World is 100% community driven we would love to hear from you if you want to get involved. Whether you own a professional 3D scanner, or just want to get started with your smartphone, Scan the World has a place for you.
