Growing up in “Jet City” – Seattle – I’ve always been fascinated with airplanes and flight. Following my nerd side, I’ve watched the inaugural flight of the Boeing 777, 787 and 747-8 – and soon – the 777X. Even now, I watch the new jets coming off the assembly line doing daily test flights before they are delivered to customers around the world – from my office window.
The emergence of UAVs caught my attention. I bought the DJI Phantom, and quickly realized most of the DJI Phantom’s capabilities came close – but often came up short. As many of you, I decided to modify the craft to actually do what I had envisioned, and what it seemed was promised in the first place.
