Bone Valley Scale Models

Bone Valley Scale Models Shop Banner

Model railroad freight cars, locos, structures and accessories. If you want a particular model, just hire me to design it for you. Then you’ll have the option to own the rights to the model and be able to sell it yourself on Shapeways indefinitely--which has the potential to be lucrative as 3D printing technology improves. Contact me here through Shapeways or through the contact form on my website. Go here for more info and pricing: http://theuniverseas.com/bvmodels/hire-me-for-printable-3d-modeling-work/

Overall, the freight car models just require trucks/couplers, cleaning (use Bestine), some sanding, paint, and a brake wheel (N MT Miner Wheel 1063). Some parts of the models are delicate, due to the nature of the prototypes. In general, the most delicate parts are the stirrups. If they break or arrive broken, either glue them back on or use the opportunity to replace them with wire/etched metal, which is more durable and more true to prototype anyway. If you want your models to endure, make sure you clean the models well using Bestine, and paint the models. NOTE: Some older N scale models are too delicate to meet Shapeways' new design policies. Hence, I have removed them from sale. But even models that seem to be printable are sometimes nitpicked by Shapeways to death and deemed unprintable. So, I can't make any guarantees that Shapeways will always fulfill your order. Also, check out https://www.shapeways.com/shops/seaboardshops for many of my designs in HO scale.
