Product Description
Parts in "Strong & Flexible" material to make the model's rudders work using a small additional servo:
  • 2 levers
  • 1 link
  • 2 discs

Additionally, the four printed sets of parts of the Anticosti model kit are needed. The assembly of the components is explained in the assembly manual (see www.microboathobby.com (download section)).The complete model was featured in "SchiffsModell" magazine (in German) in the 01-02/2016 edition:
http://schiffsmodell-magazin.de/news/exot-aus-dem-drucker/The MV Anticosti (IMO registration number 7314723, see e.g. shipspotting.com) is a common representative of a larger workboat, in this case a supply vessel used for offshore-work. The Anticosti was built originally "Jean Tide" as an oil-rig supply vessel and later converted by the Canadian Navy to serve as a minesweeper (HMCS Anticosti (MSA 110)). Along with this, her sister ship "Joyce Tide" was converted to the minesweeper "HMCS Moresby" (MSA 112). With the introduction of the Kingston-class patrol vessels, both ships were retired from active service and later sold to be used as supply vessels again. Today, the Anticosti still is in active duty. The Anticosti displaces 2,200 tons (deep load) and is 58.3 m (191 ft) long with a beam of 13.1 m (43 ft). Driven by four diesel engines, it employs a total power of 4,600 horsepower. It uses, in addition, a GillJet thruster to aid maneuverability (also referred as azimuth bow thruster or pump jet). Built by Allied Shipbuilders Ltd. in Vacouver, three other vessels of the same family of design were built, e.g. "Lady Lisbeth", "Lady Vivien", "Lady Alexandra", all of which still are used today as offshore supply ships. The model is designed in 1:200 scale. It is consequently set up to enable radio control functions (RC), both for the two shafts (in Kort nozzles), the rudder and the GillJet, which is designed to be fully working. Additionally, the radar and lights can be set up to work, and additional functionality can be designed. However, this model is not set up to be ready to run, but it requires refinement and it only suitable for skilled model builders. For an assembly manual, details and further background information: see www.microboathobby.com (download section)
