The Victorian Railways T class (diesel) were delivered over a 13 year period (1955 to 1968) and formed the most numerous diesel locomotive class. While originally purchased as a branchline locomotive, these locomotives were employed widely across the VR network in both passenger and freight services.
Despite comprising a single class, three distinct variants of the T class diesel locomotive are recognised based upon their appearance:
- Flat tops: T320-346 (first order)
- High cabs: T347-366 (second and third orders)
- Low nose: T367-T417 (fourth through to seventh orders)
This product consists of an N scale body of a low-nose variant of the VR T class diesel locomotive. It is anticipated that this body shell will fit on a Kato NW2 or Bachmann S2/S4 mechanism - This will be confirmed based upon first prints which are currently in production.
