Please note: This streetlight is MUCH cheaper per piece if you order it in groups of 6, 12, or 24. You'll pay the same setup charge as with this single lamp, but spread over many more models! Your per-piece price goes down as low as $2.34 each!This is a "acorn" style streetlight as found in many small town business districts, both in the past and modern era. The streetlight is made with a 0.020 deep square "sidewalk" base, a scale 2 feet x 2 feet across. The circular section of the base below the sidewalk is 1/4" in diameter to allow it to be plugged easily into the scenery. The round section also includes a socket for a 3mm T1 LED to be epoxied inside, and the material will act as a "light pipe" to allow it to be lit. The inclusion of a void inside the globe which will trap some of the support material when printed will represent a bulb, and give a brighter point inside the translucent material of the lamp. The poles for these lamps are usually a dark green, black, or silver. A suggested paint scheme is shown in the render.

 

 

The light post to the bottom of the luminaire is 10 scale feet tall, with the luminaire adding another 40 inches to that, making the light from the base to the top a total of 13 feet 4 inches tall in HO scale.

 

It is suggested that no matter what color you want the light post, it should be painted silver first to keep light from leaking out of the pole and to reflect it back inward, then paint your final color over the silver. Note that the globe (shown as white in the render) should not be painted at all, to allow the light to escape there.
