Maketoys Axle-Left and Right Leg Replacements

These parts are intended to help you fix a broken Maketoys Axle figure. I created the parts to the best of my abilities, there may be very minor sanding/tweaking needed, so at this time the parts are in BETA. Please proceed with caution...they are recommended only if you have experience making such repairs.

The L/R parts are connected as per Shapeways design requirements. I recommended removing the sprues using sidecutters, available through most hobby stores or thru Amazon.

You can paint the parts using "Tamiya" or similar highly quality Acrylic paints. This type of material absorbs paint nicely so if you apply several thin coats it will build up to a nice textured finish. If you need a bit smoother, paint a thin coat and then lightly sand using 1000 grit sandpaper, then apply the next coat, dry, sand...repeat until you're happy with the finish.

In terms of removing the pins...that's the tricky part. So far we have learned that the pins are not knurled; however, there may be a lot of force needed to get them out. A pin removal tool is your best bet (also available on Amazon).
