The proposal of the Strike Cruiser originated in 1974, and the first artisitic impression made was a two-bridge cruiser not unlike the never built Type 43 DDG. An artistic license taken for this ship is that the missile launchers was moved considerably behind to accomodate the MCLWG turret which was, like the ship, never adopted.
An issue associated with this artistic impression is the firing arc of the Tomahawk cruise missiles.
