Insanity Cubed has gone into mass production and is now available as the Insanity Cube at the HK Now Store. Also available in a stickerless metalized version!
Geometry:
Insanity Cubed is a cubic version of my previous Edge of Insanity puzzle. The puzzle has six axes, one close to the center of each face. Because the axis system is based on the triangular dipyramid rather than the cube, every move is a jumbling and shape-shifting move.
Other Items Needed:
Dye: If you want the puzzle to be black, you can save money by dyeing the pieces yourself with a nylon dye such as RIT or Dylon. Or Shapeways can dye the parts for you at an additional cost.
Stickers: Template available in the instructions forum. If you want professionally cut stickers, I recommend Oliver’s Stickers.
Screws: Six 12mm M3 pan head screws required, available in hardware stores or on the web.
Springs: Six springs needed, available in web puzzle shops. I get mine from HK Now Store.
Degree of Difficulty:
Assembly: Easy assembly.
Solving: Very difficult to solve.
Playability:
Insanity Cubed turns very easily, and the mechanism is very stable.
Have fun!
