This model was created by stacking the frames of an animation into a 3D set of voxels. The animation was created by Andrew Glassner. See the 323 project for more details. The animation that created this model is here. It's a very short animation, so is by default a flat model. I could have scaled in Z, but the "medallion" effect is interesting. Also, the bounding box is so large that you can't make a color print. This model is different than many of the others, in that it was generated from a PDF of the animation, so exact geometry could be used for each layer. Parts of the animation zoom in from the edges. The 3D model produced actually uses the offscreen elements.
