Product Description
This is my most ambitious fin unit to date, though not my largest object You can easily get yourself a current Estes V-2, and use about every miscellaneous part from that kit and use it with this fin unit! No kidding, you'll be left with the fin and tail-cone to be used for other scratch projects. The fins are NOT oversize, so add weight as necessary to balance your CP/CG relationship for stable flight. I designed it to use with the Estes 24mm screw retainer set which fits right where the exhaust vanes would be located, so it will fill that gap nicely. Due to its hollowness I have a bearing flange to support the motor tube at the exhaust end, and all you need to do is follow the assembly plan of the kit instructions ( or similar design) to have additional ring supports for setting into the body tube airframe. You can still notch the flange and use a hook should you choose. Like many of you this is one of my favorite subjects, and I strive in my revisions to get it as right and as economical as possible. Shapeways and my models evolve around the pricing, so design changes are necessary from time to time, but this is a strong, detailed, yet minimal piece that I think any V-2 fan will enjoy. So enjoy!
