Circular timeless pendant

Inspired by the circular hoop in the painting "Melancholy" by Lucas Cranach the Elder. A contemporary curved infill complements the classical beauty of the circular geometric form. The pendant alludes to the futility of the game played by the nude boys in Cranach's painting through the apparent endless complexity of the folded pattern. A specially written computer app that makes random waves in three dimensions was the start point of the design. The pattern of waves was projected into 2D and extruded into a coralline like convolution within a flattened circular disc.  Meticulous shaping, hand retouching and form meeting function are all presented in this elegant pendant, intended to be radiant, whole and harmonious and to sturdily endure the test of time.
