A trefoil knot from a square beam, using regular miter joints.
The spatial path of this knot follows a tour of the bishop in a three-dimensional chess board.
Recall that a bishop can move only diagonally. In space, that involves six directions: the directions that connect the centers of opposite edges in a cube.
