Patrol Airship of the U.S. Navy, the K Class, were used througout WW2 as convoy escorts and anti-submarine spotters. Their duties continued well into the Cold War era.  K Ships were the first non-rigid airships to cross the Atlantic when the 14th Squadron were ordered to French Morocco to take up anti-submarine duties across the Straits of Gibralter. A total of 135 K Ships were built. The model is complete with a tractor pulled, mobile mooring mast and can be displayed landed and attached to the mast OR airborne by completing the model with the nose cone that is attached to the mounting spigot of the mooring mast. There is a 2mm nominal diameter hole for a mounting wire in the hull just aft of the control car.
