A small number of
Morane-Saulnier Type L Parasols were license-built in Bavaria as the Pfalz A.I (with 80hp Oberusel U.0) and A.II (with 100hp Oberusel U.I). When synchronizers became available, a handful of these were converted to be armed with synchronized IMG08 machine gun and they were redesignated the
Pfalz E.III. Front line inventory numbers list them on hand as early as October 1915, with a high of eight in June 1916.
This product comes in both 1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288 scales. The 1:144 scale has a single aeroplane.
The 1:285 product comes with two aeroplanes, each with a removable propeller disk rather than propeller blades. They are joined by sprues to keep the cost down. You will have to carefully remove the sprues with snippers or nail cutters.
DESIGNER NOTE:
Models at scales smaller than 1:144 may no longer be available. Shapeways discontinued the material for which they were designed, and the newer materials require that each and every model be adjusted to thicken surfaces like wings. If you are interested in a particular model in a small scale, please let me know and I will prioritize it higher in the queue.
