Product Description
Old railway sleepers were often re-used to make things like fences or small coal stores etc. They are also sometimes cut in half and used as sleepers for narrow gauge railways. Modelling this is common, but what is less common is modelling the holes and marks left on old sleepers when the original rail chairs are removed.
This small stamp allows such marks to be easily added to wooden sleepers when modelling in 7mm to the foot scale. A slight tap with a hammer leaves the impression of the rail chair and the four fixing bolts.
This stamp is modelled on a rail chair from the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway described in a report from 1895, although with four fixing bolts it's very similar to the marks that would be left by rail chairs from many other railway companies. I'll be adding more stamps to cover more of the different styles and railway companies but feel free to contact me if you have a specific style in mind which is not yet available.
